Friendship

The measure of a friend my friend
Is the way he sees beyond
The folly of our worldly minds
And our foolish worldly songs
He sits not then in judgement
Of what worldly mind conceives
And brings to mind compassion
That Christ has brought, you see?
And then in true humility
He sees the folly of his ways
And confesses them as error
Of one lost upon the way
And then accepts forgiveness
Which is come and of The Christ
And returns unto the father
And lives again in light
Indeed narrow is the road my friend
To die to self to live
To be one who is born again
To know of true loves gift.
